Introducing GoughNuts dog chew toy to the UK. GoughNuts pet toys are designed to address the simple but serious issue of SAFETY. The GoughNuts chew toys are designed knowing that safety and fun go hand in hand. Each GoughNuts pet toy has included in it's design the GoughNuts patent pending visual safety indicator where Green means "Go" and Red means "Stop".
A little about me. In March 2010, I found a new man in my life. Six weeks after the loss of my last Border Collie 'Spot', I was ready for a new challenge. That came in the form of 'Steve'. A nine week old Border Collie. With the choice of 8 pups, I chose the quiet, fat, shy one, that hid in the back of the stable. He travelled home like a dream and settled in without the slightest bit of fuss.
Over the next week or so, his character started to develop. Playing with his two new friends, 'Riley' and 'Doris', he ran and played, and started to CHEW! OMG could this boy chew! Every toy was destroyed, soft toys lasted minutes. Rubber toys maybe lasted a week or two. Another toy, sold as one of the toughest toys around lasted less than 2 minutes! There was always the threat of a foreign body blockage, and an expensive trip to the Vets hanging over him, if he swallowed bits of of toys. I was frustrated. He loved to play, but tore everything up. My kitchen chairs (and the kitchen wall one day) started to suffer.
I hunted on the internet, and eventually came across GoughNuts. I read all the info, and wondered if this would be the toy that would thwart 'Steve' and his chewing.
I took the plunge and ordered 2, all the way from California. We waited with anticipation for them to arrive, and about 10 days later there was a parcel. 'Steve' took to the GoughNut ring immediately, and I can honestly say, that since the day it arrived he has never been more than 2 metres away from it. He has played and chewed and pounced on it since September 2010 and it still doesn't have a mark on it! I think all dogs should have the chance to have the joy and fun of a GoughNut, so working along side Amy Rockwood, the inventor of GoughNuts, I have brought them to the UK.
